Graduate Students:


We often take on new graduate students for our research. Over the past years, we have graduated over 30 PhDs and several Masters. Recent research interests are information extraction, ranking, and indexing for novel search engines such as CiteSeerX, and deep learning for sequences and information retrieval.

It is important for you to publish in prominent and accepted venues such as AAAI, ACM, IEEE, SAIM, ACL, and others such as Nature, Science, PNAS, etc. Otherwise, your work is not well validated and most likely ignored.

Software and Systems:


We often have positions, part and full time, for development in our ongoing projects. Please ask about what is available. These positions require skills in Linux, Python, Java and C-C++.  Publications are emphasized and will be required.

Undergraduates:


Undergrads at Penn State work with our graduate students on particular problems of interest. It is necessary to have good skills in Linux, Python, Java and C-C++.  Please look at our recent papers for insights into our current work.

Our Location:


The Pennsylvania State University is located in State College in central Pennsylvania, a 2 to 4 hour drive from Washington DC, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, New York NY, Ithaca, and Princeton. University Park has a small airport with several direct flights to Washington Dulles, Philadelphia, Detroit and Chicago.
